Sous Chef

We are growing our business, quickly, and we need enthusiastic people to be part of an almost entirely new team, and to drive that change.


We have a great new head chef who started in January, and has put in the groundwork to get our evening trade up and running, appealing to a whole new customer base, and now we have openings for a number of supporting roles both to grow our business and expand it. Being a new evening offering, we are really hoping to work with chefs' individual talents rather than pushing them down a well laid path. If you have a particular style of food you love then we want to support that. We are not a venue with a theme or established menu, we want to try things and work with individuals talents.


Business wise, we took the opportunity the coronavirus lockdowns presented and expanded from 50 covers to around 80 seated indoor covers and added an outdoor roof garden with another 25. February just gone was the busiest month we have ever had! Not many businesses can say that. Growth potential is huge.


Our kitchen is a well fitted, modern bright and airy space on the first floor and has a separate prep room (in construction at the moment) and a nice view down the main street in Llangollen.


What we ask of you as a Sous Chef is that you are great at working in a team, able to both assist and train less experienced staff and able to work very closely with the Head Chef to achieve great food, good GP and a fun working environment.

You will be confident, competent, enthusiastic and have the relevant experience to manage the kitchen both alone and with assistance from other chefs and support staff, though we will consider applicants wishing to step up to such a role.


This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate, with autonomy and responsibility for the menu, and with the refurbishments and future growth there are a lot of opportunities to help develop the business.


Starting date can be flexible.

Pay is the market standard based on experience. It is really important to us that all staff are paid fairly for their work, and will openly discuss pay rates and reasoning in an ongoing way.
